The Indian Navy has invited online applications for the 10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme (Permanent Commission) for the course commencing in January 2027. Unmarried male and female candidates who aspire to join the Indian Navy as Permanent Commissioned Officers in the Technical Branches can apply for this prestigious entry scheme.

Indian Navy 10+2 B.Tech Entry Vacancy Details
The Indian Navy has announced a total of 60 vacancies under the 10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme.

Women Reservation
Out of the total 60 vacancies, a maximum of 08 vacancies are reserved for women candidates:
- Mechanical Engineering: 04 vacancies

Naval Architecture & Shipbuilding Opportunity
Based on merit and performance during training at INA, 07 candidates from the Mechanical Engineering stream will be selected to pursue a B.Tech in Naval Architecture & Shipbuilding at NCW, Kochi.
Age Limit
Candidates must be born between 02 July 2007 and 01 January 2010 (both dates inclusive).
Educational Qualification
- Must have passed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent from a recognized board.
- Must have secured a minimum of 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
- Must have obtained at least 50% marks in English either in Class X or Class XII.
Mandatory JEE Main Requirement
Candidates must have appeared for the JEE (Main) 2026 examination for B.E./B.Tech. Shortlisting for the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview will be based strictly on the JEE (Main) 2026 All India Common Rank List (CRL) published by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Selection Process
The selection process consists of the following stages:
1. Shortlisting
- Naval Headquarters will determine the cut-off for shortlisting candidates.
- Shortlisting will be based on the JEE (Main) 2026 All India Common Rank List (CRL).
- Shortlisted candidates will be informed through SMS and Email.
2. SSB Interview
- Shortlisted candidates will undergo the Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview.
- SSB interviews are scheduled from September 2026 onwards.
- Interview centres include:
- Bengaluru
- Bhopal
- Kolkata
- Visakhapatnam
3. Medical Examination
- Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a medical examination.
- Candidates already declared medically fit for NDA/INA January 2027 Entry are not required to undergo another medical examination.
4. Final Merit List
- A common merit list will be prepared.
- Final selection will be based on SSB marks and medical fitness.
Training and Benefits
Selected candidates will join the Indian Naval Academy as Cadets and undergo a four-year B.Tech programme.
- A B.Tech Degree will be awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) upon successful completion of training.
- Zero Training Cost: The complete cost of training, including books and reading materials, will be borne by the Indian Navy.
- Additional Facilities: Cadets will receive entitled clothing and messing facilities during training.
